The matelassé has a weight I didn't expect from a bed skirt, so it hangs straight instead of clinging to the box spring. The diamond piqué pattern shows up nicely in lamplight without being busy. Three weeks in and it still looks crisp.

I was worried a bed skirt would look flimsy, but this matelassé has real weight to it and hangs in clean folds instead of clinging. The piqué pattern adds just enough texture without competing with my duvet.

The diamond piqué texture gives my bed a tailored look without being fussy, and the matelassé fabric has a nice weight to it. It stays put on the mattress and the sheen is subtle enough that it doesn't look shiny in person.
